These terms apply to your use of the Specter app, the services accessible through it, and related websites we operate (collectively, "the Service"). Using the Service means you agree to these terms.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Specter. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement in your jurisdiction.
You sign in via Google or Apple. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials and your 12-word recovery phrase secure. We will never ask you for your recovery phrase by email, in-app message, or any other channel — treat any such request as a phishing attempt.
You agree not to:
Specter lets you post content — including comments, activity titles and notes, club content, and profile details ("User Content"). You are responsible for your User Content and must have the right to post it.
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You may not post content that is harassing, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable, and you may not abuse other users. We may remove any User Content and suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms, with or without notice. By posting User Content you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display it as necessary to operate the Service (including showing it on cover-route activity views to other users).
You can report any comment or activity, and block any account, from within the app. Blocking makes you and the blocked account mutually invisible across feeds, comments, and profiles. We review reports of objectionable content and abusive users and act on them. We aim to address valid reports promptly.
The Service may include automated accounts operated by us ("synthetic athletes") that can follow, give kudos, and post comments. Comments from these accounts are generated by a third-party AI language model. By using the Service you acknowledge that some interactions and content may be automated or AI-generated rather than from another human user. See our Privacy Policy for details.
You own your activity data. We process it as described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and serve your data as necessary to operate the Service — including transposing your rotated GPS track to a cover route and serving your published activities to other users via cover routes.
Specter is provided "as is" and "as available." We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will give reasonable notice and an export option before any permanent discontinuation that affects your account.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Specter, its operators, and contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service — including loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury sustained while using the Service to record physical activity. You assume all risks associated with exercise; the Service is a recording tool, not medical or training advice.
You may terminate your account at any time via Profile → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these terms, including posting objectionable content or abusing other users, with notice where practicable.
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date above reflects the latest revision. Continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated in-app before they take effect.
